more than just a name, but a philosophy in its own right.
1970 – The First Steps
Our family’s story in hospitality began with a small café in Silbertal. A place where homemade specialties and genuine hospitality attracted guests – and laid the foundation for everything that followed.
1987 – From Café to Country Hotel
The café evolved into a hotel: with the Landhotel Älpili in Gaschurn we fulfilled our dream of offering guests not just a place to stop, but a home away from home. Personal service, regional cuisine and the feeling of being truly welcome shaped the house from the very beginning.
1998 – A Bold Step to Schruns
The purchase of the former Gauenstein School of Home Economics opened entirely new possibilities. What followed was a remarkable transformation: the old school was essentially hollowed out, dismantled and rebuilt – countless cubic metres of concrete were cut and moved.
With great passion and a clear vision, a new house began to take shape – one that not only offers space for guests, but also carries a distinctive character. We consciously chose a Gothic-inspired architectural style, something unique in the region, which can still be discovered today in countless details throughout the hotel. This became the foundation of the “Vitalquelle” – a place that unites tradition with contemporary hospitality.
2000 – A New Beginning
With the creation of the natural swimming lake, a spacious garden landscape and the relocation of the road, the setting was created for what defines the Vitalquelle today: generous open spaces, tranquillity and a unique atmosphere that instantly makes guests feel at home.
2001 – The Birth of the Vitalquelle Montafon
With the opening of the Vitalquelle Montafon in Schruns, a great dream became reality. To this day, the hotel represents everything we stand for: refined cuisine with a regional touch, generous spaces to relax and an atmosphere where hospitality can truly be felt. The name “Vitalquelle” became our guiding principle – not in a medical sense, but as a symbol of vitality, enjoyment and genuine relaxation.
A refuge for people who seek authenticity – tranquillity instead of noise, quality instead of quantity, nature instead of haste.
We continue to evolve without losing our essence. Deeply rooted in our homeland – yet always open to new paths.

As a second-generation host, she combines tradition with vision – creating a place where guests feel not only welcome, but truly seen.Having grown up surrounded by the mountains of the Montafon, she understands the power of nature and the true value of genuine hospitality. With great sensitivity, a clear vision and an eye for detail, she continues to develop the hotel step by step – always in harmony with what defines the Vitalquelle: quality, personality and tranquillity.
